Despite the fact that Encanto makes it seem as though Mirabel is rejected at her gift-giving ceremony in Casita, it’s possible that the persona already has a present. In Encanto, Mirabel Madrigal (Stephanie Beatriz) differs from the rest of her family. In the movie, the Madrigals all have magical gifts to aid the family and their village. For instance, Dolores (Adassa), Mirabel’s cousin, and Luisa (Jessica Darrow), Mirabel’s sister, both have superhuman strength. Mirabel, however, isn’t given anything in the movie, which strains her bond with Abuela Alma (Mara Cecilia Botero).
In Encanto, the Madrigals don’t fully appreciate their talents. Alma only knows that the miracle entered her life after the passing of her husband Pedro. Pedro gave his life in order to save his family and his village, and as a result, Alma was given a magical candle, an enchanted home, and her family began to manifest supernatural abilities. Alma is perpetually concerned that she may lose the enchantment and disappoint her family and the village. She is therefore very upset when Mirabel doesn’t get a present on the day of her ceremony.
Mirabel appears to not get a gift, but Encanto could show that she did. When a member of the family receives a brand-new gift, the Madrigals in Encanto hold a special ceremony. The youngster approaches Abuela Alma, touches the magical candle, and then reaches for a mysterious doorknob that opens to show their new room in the Casita as well as their new present. Nevertheless, the room vanishes when Mirabel reaches for the door during her ceremony. A theory suggests that the door didn’t actually vanish (via Reddit). It merely evolved into the home’s entrance.
Encanto’s Mirabel Had A Gift All Along
The Encanto argument of Mirabel’s talent is tenable because she continues in Abuela Alma’s footsteps. When the miracle appeared to be in peril, Alma confesses to Mirabel that she had begged Pedro for assistance. At this point, Alma recognises that Pedro had sent Mirabel to be the assistance she requires. Like Alma, Mirabel is prepared to make sacrifices for the benefit of her family and her community and puts others before herself. At the conclusion of the movie, when Mirabel’s picture appears on the door of the newly constructed home, it is clear that Mirabel will succeed Abuela Alma as the head of the family. It’s likely that Mirabel owned the Casita’s door all along, though. After all, throughout the movie, Casita reacts to Mirabel the most.

Uncle Bruno (John Leguizamo) predicts in Encanto that Mirabel would bring Casita to its knees, but he assures his niece that her future isn’t predetermined. Bruno informs Mirabel that when he had his vision, there was “no definite fate.” The information indicates that Mirabel’s gift door may have changed to the front of the house. It wasn’t necessarily present the entire time, though. After all, Mirabel was the one who, by putting her family above herself, really made it happen.
Encanto Theory: Mirabel’s Ceremony Was A Harsh Personality Dig From Abuela
Encanto’s central idea is that Mirabel is on a quest to discover who she truly is, so one interpretation of the event is that Abuela’s failure to give Mirabel a present was an insult, suggesting that she lacked a distinguishing characteristic. Each member of the Madrigal family possessed unique personality traits. Mirabel’s personality might not have been sufficiently distinct for Abuela and her magic light to have noticed her. The coming-of-age story’s theme, which centres on young Mirabel as she discovers herself outside of who her family is and what is expected of her, supports this.
However, it seems doubtful that a Disney film would pursue that path. The majority of Pixar movies are known for being inspirational stories about the human condition and characters’ journeys toward attaining harmony and serenity. Other Pixar coming-of-age films, such as Turning Red, Luca, and Inside Out, focus on accepting oneself while going through the challenges of growing up. Encanto is unlikely to act in such a damaging manner by implying that Mirabel’s lack of a gift is indicative of a personality flaw.
ALSO READ Why Didn't Mirabel Get A Gift? Encanto Theory Explains Why It's Abuela's MistakesThe idea that Encanto gave Mirabel an unspoken present is considerably more plausible. Therefore, there is some merit to the idea that she is meant to succeed Abuela. Although there is proof that Mirabel was given the front door in secret, the movie also demonstrates that Mirabel wasn’t actually given anything. Instead, she gains access to the home’s front entrance in Encanto.
